Steps toward becoming IECQ HSPM compliant

The first step is to add the relevant hazardous substance control measures to your organization’s existing management system. The procedure for establishing the HSPM system has four stages:

  • Plan the system:
    • Consolidate relevant international regulations and client’s requirements.
    • Map out the company’s technical standards and the liability and management structure for internal departments.
  • Establish the system:
    • Establish the procedures for hazardous substance control as well as the internal workflow of an organization.
  • Develop and execute the system:
    • Provide staff training and education.
    • Implement control measures and record keeping along with internal auditing and management review.
  • System certification and continuous improvement.
